What is Ballroom Burn?

Ballroom Burn is a dance class designed to raise your heart rate, tone your muscles and teach you the basics of ballroom dancing. You do not need a partner nor do you require any previous dance experience to attend the classes. The basic Ballroom and Latin American dance steps are put together in short routines that can be danced solo. You will also learn basic technique that will help to engage different muscle groups along with being shown how to move the travelling dances around the floor. The classes are fun, energetic and lively.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you are comfortable in! Most people wear leggings/tracksuits and T'shirts or vests.

What about footwear?

If you have dance shoes of any kind then great but if not trainers that offer a little bit of grip are ideal. Some people will wear special dance trainers, others court trainers. Anything that is easy to move in and comfortable that offers some support with a non slip sole.

Am I too old or unfit?

No - Everyone is welcome regardless of their age or fitness level. There is a low impact alternative for the more demanding steps so you can take it at your own pace.

What if I can't dance?

You won't be the only person who thinks they can’t dance. The music inspires a natural rhythm. You will get better as the weeks go on and most people feel it gives them a new found confidence in their dancing ability. If you still feel like you have no coordination, you won't be the only person going the wrong way! It doesn't matter, no one cares, everyone is there for FUN!

What do I need to bring with me?

Water and a towel.

If booking lessons please read all the information on the FAQs page of this website.
